We stayed here for 5 nights mid September.

The house was exceptionally clean and well equipped, the only drawback is also one of its greatest features. The view from the kitchen and especially the upstairs lounge is truly exceptional.

Unfortunately this means that the house is located at the top of a hill , which added to a bit of a bendy road ( there is a short cut which cuts some bends out) it is a steep walk back from the Pub

Location 5* when you are there, 2* when walking back! Aberporth is a smallish village but has 2 pubs and a shop, great beaches and is a good base to explore south central Wales

Kitchen 5* Well equipped

Lounge 5 * great view, good selection of DVDs TV etc

Beds 5* good & Comfy

Bathrooms 5* Good strong showers

Garden area 5* A natural sun trap

Owner 5* Good Communication, left a Covid friendly pack

Would I come again – Yes (Robert M, Sep 2020

This is a lovely detached house with every comfort provided. Downstairs is roomy and comfortable with a large kitchen diner, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The kitchen is very well equipped and has plenty of food storage space. There is ample seating outside with well tended gardens to enjoy. The back of the house is a sun trap and is not overlooked.

Upstairs is special. The large bedroom is light and airy with two skylight windows. It has its own bathroom next door but the star of the house is the sitting room with its large picture window overlooking the village and the sea beyond. There is a good TV package and we enjoyed using Chromecast synchronised with our own devices.

There are lovely walks nearby – the coastal path is 15 minutes away and the friendly local beach only 10 minutes. Aberporth itself is picturesque and has a shop, pubs with food, ice cream and takeaway. We spent a happy week there and would love to return.

Joy was a pleasure to deal with and provided very helpful local advice and recommendations. (Jo P, Sep 2020)

A lovely large house. Spotlessly clean. Well equipped. Stunning views. Walking distance to beautiful sandy beach and The Ship Inn. (Robert P, Sep 2020)

This house is simply lovely, spotlessly clean and very well planned out. Plenty of space, lots of towels, and loads of crockery! The rooms are all large with very comfortable furniture, lots of storage space in bedrooms and nice sized bathrooms. The views from the lounge and kitchen across the bay are stunning. We didn’t brave the walk to the beach (the hill is steep and long and we’re lazy!), but there are 2 car parks at aberporth beach and we managed to park with no issues every time we went. We booked and ate at The Ship Inn, which overlooks Aberporth beach – very nice. Also recommend a trip to New Quay for a large beach (but quite busy) and boat trips, Gwbert at low tide for crabbing from the pontoon and for sunset watching, and Cardigan Island Coastal Farm for seal spotting. Looking forward to coming back again another year. (Vicky W, Aug 2020)

A very clean and spacious house, beautifully furnished and equipped. Ideal for a family group. Plenty of space to relax and enjoy the view and sunny seating areas in the garden. Easy walking distance to lovely clean beach. Look forward to staying again. (Julia B, Aug 2020)

One review I read before booking was, ‘the photos do not do proper justice to the property ‘, I thoroughly agree.

Internally it was so spacious, so clean, everything that you needed. Outside was a little sun trap, quiet and relaxing.

Views overlooking the bay were breathtaking. My husband and I did a lot of walking, the coastal path so easy to follow. Two friends joined us for a couple of nights and we drove a bit further a field, more of the same, places with amazing views, friendly locals.

We ate at The Ship Inn at Aberporth, amazing food, would give it 5stars.

Do not hesitate booking, if you want relaxing, stress free, this is the place for you. (Ann B, Sep 2019)

My wife and I and our four children had a lovely holiday in Aberporth. The self catering accommodation was truly outstanding; hats off to the owners for providing everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and relaxing. (Jack H, Aug 2019)

Tir a Mor is a great place for a holiday on the Welsh coast. Accommodation was immaculate on arrival, it has great views from the kitchen and upstairs lounge and features everything a family on holiday could need. Quick 10 minute walk to the beach (uphill on the way back) but was fine for us. As others have said, we’d highly recommend food at the ‘The Ship Inn’ down the road in Aberporth. We also enjoyed trips to Cardigan and New Quay… The Bluebell Deli & Bistro at New Quay was also one of our favourites for food out. Aberporth itself is very nice, with an excellent beach, that splits into two at high tide. Joy is also very helpful, friendly and easy to get hold of. Big thumbs up for Tir a Mor! (Elaine W, June 2019)

Highly recommend this house, very clean, everything you need for a comfortable stay. Communication with the owner is effortless and she is happy to answer any questions you might have. Good location for exploring the area, Aberporth is a small village with a lovely sandy beach, we were very lucky to see Dolphins all along the coast including in Aberporth bay. (Jennifer S, May 2019)

We stayed for a week in this beautiful house. As many other reviewers have commented, the photos on this site really don’t do the house justice! It is light and airy and very spacious. The facilities are top notch and Joy has thought about everything you could possibly desire!

The views from both the kitchen and lounge area are outstanding and the telescope is a lovely added touch.

I had an issue with the boiler (which was totally my fault) and Joy still answered the phone just before midnight and talked me through how to rectify my error! Such a wonderful, pleasant owner to deal with. Thank you for an amazing stay!!

FYI, anyone with kids must go to the Cardigan Island Coastal Farm! We spent a wonderful morning there and saw nine seals in their natural habitat! (Cara B, April 2019)

“This property caters for everyone ..and every need. It is modern, relaxing, beautifully decorated and faultless.I stayed here with my husband and elderly parents, the local beach is wonderful-the best I have ever visited, peaceful, safe and ideal for every age group. As a base to visit the Ceredigion and surrounding area Tir a Mor is the finest, I would chose this property every time. Cardigan, Newquay, Pembryn, Fishguard , Tenby, Carmarthen, The National Botanical Gardens of Wales, the Cliff Hotel at Gwbert and sailing all within easy reach. Our favourite was the beautiful evening strolls along the coastal path above the bay at Aberporth as the Sun set..The owner deserves a great deal of credit as this property is simply outstanding.” (Ann C, Jun 2018)

“Description doesn’t do it justice and Mrs Davies is so helpful the area is amazing and the young ones 4 and 6 loved the beach so clean, will definitely be back the view from lounge alone is worth going back on it’s own.” (Stephen D, May 2018)

“An absolutely delightful property! The house is a short walk away from the lovely beaches in Aberporth. The layout of the kitchen downstairs and lounge upstairs means that the view of the sea can be appreciated from both. It is spotlessly cleaned, well furnished and well equipped with everything that we needed for our family of 6. The high chair and cot were really helpful to have. The Tesco in Cardigan delivers to the property so we had our shopping delivered on the afternoon of our arrival which saved us a trip out. I would not hesitate to re-book if we visit the area again.” (Laura P, Oct 2017)
“The pictures look great of the house, but if possible it is even better in real life! I stayed here with my husband, 2 year old daughter and my parents for a week. It is without a doubt the best house we have stayed in. Your can really see the time and effect the lovely owner has put into making the house so great, from the decor, to the setting, the gardens, the facilities in the house, the extras like games and lots of information on what to do in the area to just how clean the house is, top rated place to stay. The views from the house are stunning, and Aberporth itself is lovely. We enjoyed a few drinks and a meal in the Ship which was lovely. We explored the area and loved New Quay although we didn’t see any Dolphins on our visit. The Weather was not on our side for week but we were able to get two afternoons in on the lovely beach in Aberporth, it was our little girls first time on a beach and she loved it!! The beaches are so clean and well looked after. We will be heading back to this lovely property in the future I am sure, cannot recommend it enough, we had a great family holiday and made lots of lovely memories. (Miriam M Sep 2017)
“We stayed in the house with 3 kids, 16, 15 and 12 years old. The house is very big and all of us loved it. The weather was good and we even were able to see dolphins and a very nice sunset on Tresaith Beach. Aberporth is good located with many attractions nearby. We loved to be here!” (Stefanie B, July 2017)
“I stayed here for a week in June with my mother, wife and (nearly) 2 year old daughter. All of us agreed that this was the nicest place we’d ever stayed in; my only negative comment would be that the pictures do not do the house justice and it’s the only place I think I’ve ever stayed where the actual house is even nicer than the photos. The house was clearly built to make the most of the wonderful views of the sea and is light, clean and well-maintained. I’d highly recommend it to anyone wishing to visit this beautiful part of the country; you could easily spend an enjoyable week just making use of the house, the beach and the nearby cafés and pub or you could use it as a base to explore the many wonderful attractions nearby.” (James P, Jun 2017)

“We had a great stay at Tir a Môr, the house has a great location and we enjoyed walking down to the beach in Aberporth and along the coastal path to Tresaith. Our boys loved the Welsh Wildlife Centre which had great activities on for the holidays. We would definitely recommend the house to others, it is very spacious and comfortable.” (Emma O’Toole, Kenilworth, April 2016)

“Well, Nick and I are back home after a wonderful week’s stay once again in your lovely house.   We were so lucky with the weather, and had some great days out at various beaches and walking along the coastal paths.  We had some sightings of dolphins again, at Tresaith, Llangrannog and Ynys Lochtyn, and seals at Dinas Head, we never tire of seeing them. Our friends enjoyed their 2 days and nights as well, all too brief a stay for them.2 (Claire & Nick Neale-Brown, Cheltenham, Sep 2015)

” The house was excellent, spotless and had everything we could have needed.” (Mike & Jayne Powell, Sep 2015)

Clear direction, Clear instruction on use of appliances where and how to use them more than helpful.  All was first class no complaints what so ever. (Diana Whitaker, Leeds, Aug 2015)

“Never been here before and I don’t think I’ve ever stayed in a more beautiful house. Add to this a superb view and lovely countryside and you have the recipe for a perfect holiday. The little train to Devil’s Bridge was a delight, and the cathedral at St David’s was a deeply uplifting experience. Try to go.” (Enoch and Vaga families, Ilkeston and Liverpool, Aug 2014)
